The Sun temple is a primitive temple at Konark. It has beautiful carvings of the god’s and godesses portray different scenes. It is a magnificient temple reflecting the architects that predicted and built it. Bhubaneswar, Konark and Puri represent the Golden triangle of Orissa. The glorious Sun Temple is also known with names of Konark, Arkakshetra, and Konaditya. The entire temple has been conceived as a chariot drawn by seven horses marking the 7 days of the week. Konark is one of the well known tourist attractions of Orissa. Konark houses a colossal temple dedicated to the Sun God. The entrance is guarded by two lions, which are each shown crushing a war elephant. Each elephant in turn lies on top of a human body. The temple symbolizes the majestic stride of the Sun god.
